Carlo Broschi Farinelli (1705-1782). The career, skills and networks of a castrato singer, convegno internazionale Convegni

Si terrà tra il 9 e il 12 maggio p.v., nella prestigiosa sede dell’Österreichische Gesellschaft für Musik di Vienna, un convegno internazionale dedicato a Farinelli (1705-1782), al secolo Carlo Broschi, tra i più grandi cantanti castrati della prima metà del XVIII secolo, alfiere di un “nuovo stile” vocale di tipo virtuosistico (come ebbe a riconoscere Charles Burney).


Nonostante la ricchezza di fonti e la vastissima bibliografia, permangono lacune significative sulla sua personalità artistica e sulle relazioni che intrattenne con mecenati e istituzioni musicali. Il convegno intende ripensare il fenomeno Farinelli alla luce di nuove riflessioni sulla sua esperienza di scena e in qualità di promotore artistico-culturale tra Italia, Austria e Spagna.
